Try using a slice of an apple!
As you can see, we labeled the inner core, outer core, mantle, and crust.
The kids were super engaged and it is a great way to formatively assess my kids' understanding!
*Wouldn't recommend giving the little ones pokey push pins :) :)
This might be better 2nd and up, in small groups, or at your teacher table.
I wanted to share the idea here so I didn't forget! Haha!

Fun :) we did Earth's layers using peanut m&ms :) but this is much healthier!
